Shooting in Balranald the other day, couldn’t help but stop and take a quick snap of this green frog sitting on top of the welcome to Balranald sign.
He’s sort of the towns mascot if you like, you will see him/her all over town sitting on seats, climbing posts hanging off signs. It’s really a cool idea and adds a sense of fun to the town. I know the sculptures are model on a rare or endangered frog species found in the Balranald area, but I can’t remember the details.
Anyway if you’re in Balranald, keep an eye out for the frog, and if you want to know more about him/her I would suggest heading down to the tourist info building. I’m sure they would be happy to fill you in on this cute little green frog.
