Leila, photographed in excitations garden.

excitations garden, a purpose designed photography location. Not your everyday pretty garden. Old stables and tack rooms, uncut lawns, trees all over the place in no apparent order. Messy, lacking structure and over all a gardeners nightmare. But, you know what! we wouldn’t have it any other way. Developing a garden and farm yard for [...]

Timelapse of Aurora Borealis (northern lights) stunning pictures.

I have posted over at excitations stock photography blog, a HD Vimeo Video of the Aurora Borealis.

Mildura anual rainfall already exceeds yearly average by 140mm

Old timers always say that a big dry is followed by s big wet!!!

Water over Old Wentworth Rd.

After a very heavy shower early this morning there is water over the Old Wentworth Rd just as you leave the Calder highway. So if you are coming out to visit excitations today take it very easy as you exit the highway. The road is quite safe (well I think it is) but just don’t [...]

Murray Darling junction at Wentworth.

Flying out to a job yesterday morning we passed over the junction or confluence of two great rivers. The Murray River and the Darling River. Both flowing at high levels. Light wasn’t playing the game and we had a whole lotta rubbish in the air from an inversion layer but couldn’t resist snapping this shot. [...]

Solar Flare will offer great photo opportunities in Northern Hemisphere

But not here Ollie. All we’re likely to get are some interruptions to our electronic communications. So if your TV goes on the blink, your IPhone stops working or the lights go out, Chances are that’s a result of the current flare activity on the sun. You can read more about it here at National [...]

Beauty in adversity.

I guess only a photographer could drive around a corner, see fire trucks, council workers pumping flood waters from around homes and think to himself…. That looks so beautiful. I bet the people with flooded homes didn’t think so. Fairly sure the CFA crews had better things to do, and my mate on the stop [...]

Record breaking rain, then this!

After a wet 24 hours here in Sunraysia, where we saw some new rainfall records set. We had tonight, just as the sun was setting, a small, very small, break in cloud cover. Only lasting just long enough for me to grab this image, before it all faded back to grey.

“It would take a lot of water to cause a flood in the Murray”

I’m kinda guessing the man who made that comment may have missed the news for the last couple of weeks. Cos there is a whole lotta water upstream of Mildura and Sunraysia. And unless the Newton’s laws of gravity have been rewritten recently, its mostly headed this way. Will it cause major flooding, probably not [...]

Water over Old Wentworth Rd., Yelta

That would be the access road to excitations barn/studio. It’s no big deal, and unless we get a whole lot more rain, shouldn’t pose a problem. Just leting you know so that if you come off the highway at warp 2 speed, you’re gunna end up hitting a big puddle. Would be spectacular, but maybe [...]
